Tonight, I want to do something rather unusual. I want to pay homage to the man who played the most significant role in my life and also the geek model who guided me through my geekiness evolution: my grand-father. (unfortunately, I don't have a digital picture of him)

He has always been very welcoming and generous with the new comers to his house. He was always very aware of what is going on in terms of knowledge, he would talk about any technical subject with the visitors. He represented the stable, strong and devoted leader of the family. This retired math teacher (geek!) always knew how to program his VCR! He is the person behind who I am today and I owe him so much.

I want you all to send positive energy to him because this Wednesday, he is undergoing an open-heart surgery: a triple bypass operation. I will spend the day at Hôpital Notre-Dame, to be there for him. Thank you.

I totally filled myself with geekiness this week-end, which was extra-good given how low I was in this department. I should never again deny my nature. What a week-end! I feel totally comatose. I did not even spend 3 hours in row at my place, excluding sleep, of course. I managed to go to bed at 5 a.m. two nights in a row, followed by 2 a.m. the night right before going back to work. Let me grab the teapot now. :-)

I finally met [livejournal.com profile] mricon and [livejournal.com profile] baprime. It's funny because it is as if I knew them already, but not. But yes. But not. Anyway, I've been delighted to meet such sweet and nice persons.

I enjoyed [livejournal.com profile] sfllaw book collection. :-) Note to self: never underestimate the importance of being slippery!

Ended the night with ideas for a follow-up of my car baptism: "a car-mitzvah aka car-BQ". My car is now 1 1/2 year old, I guess that it is now an adult! [livejournal.com profile] baprime says that I have the right to give my car a nickname (following the car-mitzvah) that I can enjoy, since renaming Conrad wouldn't be much feasible now. I liked that. < :-) Of course, there would be a BBQ involved and another theme in the same spirit of the toga party that was joined with the baptism. I am stirring ideas, but of course I am open to suggestions (I trust [livejournal.com profile] sfllaw for that one. :-)) Mich, are you up for a new celebration for Julie? :-) Given people's availabilities, I had September in mind. Stay tuned for more updates!

Then, back home. My cats missed me... :,-)

Monday morning, here I am painting with Liquid paper. That can't be good for sanity.
