I am about to experience some juicy goodness of my new computer. Yeah! Already, I have the keyboard, the mouse and the new juicy LCD monitor. However, this whole story left me ambivalent. Here's the story.

I placed the order via the Apple website with the helpful contribution of [profile] mricon. They promised to ship the whole she-bang within a week. Cool!

First insanity: they ship every single component of your system seperately. In real life, that means to either stay at home many days to receive every packages, or to chase many packages accross town because you were not home during the day (typically, I work, duh!). Sucks.

They wrote me in the meantime, while I was waiting for them to complete the computer order processing per se, to inform me that they'll ship a model with upgraded hardware (duo 1.83GHz instead of duo 1.66GHz) at no cost.  That's nice!

But then, for the computer, they used  a different shipping company. While I liked Purolator, I don't know how Sameday will handle the package, if it'll be complicated to retrieve it physically, and so far, they are slow. (sigh). Why 2 companies for 2 packages?

Makes me wonder the benefits of that... I know that I'll forget this story once I can finally enjoy the power of my new computer, because for now I do enjoy my new mouse/keyboard tremendously and I can't wait to have my monitor to shut up about the non-optimal resolution I am using!!!! Man, handling photos will just be a sweet and smooth dream from now on... Oh the power... 8-D Niiiiiiice!
