My lost cat is now back, after spending 11 days lost outside. She has never been used to being free outside and I feared she would freak out all this time. The few times she escaped, it's been very very delicate to get her home since she would transform herself like Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde. She was just wild and savage, bitting anyone approaching her. I feared that.

So when I got a phone call this morning saying my cat was one street away from my place and that she was lying in the stairs, I had to be prepared. I brought saussages, her food and a towel. To my surprise, when I saw her, she was calm. She was looking at me very calmly, as if I were part of the landscape. I called her and then all of a sudden, she stood up, became verbose and decided to climb down the stairs in my direction. I simply grabbed up and carried her home. What a change with the past! All this time with anti-depressant really helped her personality. She was scared of planes and cars as we were reaching home, but fortunately, the trip wasn't very long.

After a well appreciated lunch, the first thing she did was to play with [livejournal.com profile] baprime's hand-made wool mouse. :,-)

My other cat, Athena, is unhappy to see the Chouchoune back. I expected that, but gosh, she was just in affection crisis for all the time Chouch was gone!

Finally, I could get my kiss-ass camera, the Canon 30D! I went shopping for that yesterday, with the trusty help of [livejournal.com profile] pdage. The day started a little chaotically given Dage's legendary sense of misorientation. Then, we succeeded in getting to the store, not mentionning the great healthy long walk we took, considering we didn't know on which end of the Plaza St-Hubert was the Lozeau store, combined with the fact we started our trip pretty close to the wrong end. Back and forth. We finally reached the freakin' store! Tons of people. Noooooooo! Waited a little, finally managed to obtain the help of some salesman. Yadiya diya. We pack it all, get a nice and well deserved meal at St-Hubert ("J'en perds ma sauce!") before heading home.

Finally, the moment I've been waiting for: the unwrapping. First of all, I gotta admit I was a bit disappointed. You know that nice smell that usually comes with a new electronic acquisition? Well, it wasn't there. What? That cuts in half the whole experience! But, I tried to comfort myself with the idea of playing with my new acquitition as soon as the first charge is over. Then, aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! The battery was not even half-charged that I noticed that my memory card was missing!!!!!!!!!! Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!! I won't be able to do so before I actually call the store, sort it all, praying they have a system to find out if they gave it or not so we avoid all sorts of arguments, and wait. All this waitin' and no picture takin'. Coïtus interromptus. :-(

Happy ending: I called the store this morning. They have an inventory system and it turns out that they just "happen" to have an extra memory card... (whistle). You can besure that I'll go get that *tonight*.

The end. :-)

UPDATE: Not so quite the end, afterall. I tried to go Monday night, so 24h post-acquisition, only to fail miserably at Jean-Talon metro station at the moment the store would be closing. Another delay!!! It took the bull by the horns, woke up early and went slightly after the store opened (8h a.m.).

Since Tuesday morning, we are now reunited, we are a whole! As for pictures, well, I didn't have time to quite play with it as much as I would... Of course, I took pictures of my cats... You wanna see that? :-?
